Latest Trunk Club (what I kept and what went back)
Hi friends! I hope your week is going well so far. It’s been a nice low-key one over here. We hung out at the pool, took some family walks, hit up the desert museum, and grilled for dinner. We also watched the new Mulan this weekend after the girls went to bed, and unpopular opinion here but we didn’t like it. Have you seen it yet??
For today’s post, I wanted to share something that put a little pep in my step with everything going on: a new Trunk from Trunk Club! I’ve been using this service for about a year and a half now and LOVE this for updating my wardrobe. All of the pieces are Nordstrom so you know they’re amazing quality and you can decline pieces before they’re sent. It’s really easy to connect with your stylist on the app so they know what types of pieces you like and are looking for — I’m a huge fan. You can read my full Trunk Club review and why I love it here!
For this trunk, I requested casual everyday pieces. Let’s be real, I’m not going anywhere fancy these days.
Here’s what I received:
Fall 2020 Trunk Club Delivery
I knew immediately that these wear keepers. I love hoop earrings with a little detail and know that I’ll wear these a lot this fall.
2) Reformation Bronte long linen dress
The style of this dress is pretty for summer but the fit wasn’t flattering at all; the fabric is stiff and shapeless. Back it went.
(Wearing with these pants and these mules)
I really wanted to keep this tank because it matches the pants perfectly (not in this trunk but I ordered them a week or so ago because I thought they’d be cute for fall), but the pants weren’t a fit. I was excited to try them but things are a bit snug right now with Rona times and they pucker in weird places. The next size up would be too big. I think I’m going to send back the tank and pants.
4) Veja Nova sneaker and Tan sneakers
I’ve had my eye on the Veja shoes for a while and wanted to try them out before purchasing. The fit is true to size and they’re super cute and comfortable. I’m excited to wear these with jeans and sweaters and with casual dresses! I was on the fence between the tan sneakers and the Vejas but ended up going with the white ones.
I wasn’t sure if I’d be into this top and I was right hahah. It’s super wide and billowy… I felt like I had bat wings.
(wearing with these jeans)
I loved the color of this one and thought it would be easy to dress up this fall, but I’m not sure if I’m going to keep it. At $98 it seems a little high to me for not being totally in love with it.
7) Madewell tie waist military jacket
I asked for a cargo type jacket but didn’t like the tie waist. Sending it back.
8) Madewell tees in black and white
I requested for these to be added to my trunk – you can add essentials like handbags, sunglasses, undergarments, and pajamas at checkout – because they’re amazing staples that I wear constantly.
9) Leopard cotton blend tee (similar here)
I have so many leopard things so I wasn’t planning on keeping this, but ended up loving it. It’s a perfect everyday type top and I know I’ll wear it a lot with jeans.
10) 1. State off-shoulder sheer blouse
I sent this one back because the bra situation would have been impossible and it was very sheer and too much fabric. I did like the color, though.
10) All in Favor ruched mini dress
I lurked the reviews online for this one before my trunk arrived and they were overwhelmingly positive. After trying the dress, I totally get it! It’s SO cute and flattering and is made of a soft jersey fabric. I love it with the low-top sneaks!
